The Living Free Ministry is a part of the Life Development Center at The Church at Chapelhill. Our mission is to empower people to improve their walk with God by gaining a better understanding of how life-controlling problems can become a hindrance to Christian growth. We believe that all people can learn to live a fuller, more abundant life in Christ. Therefore, we offer Christ-centered support groups for individuals growing through life’s challenges and biblically based study groups for those desiring to enrich their spiritual life.
What is a life-controlling problem and do I have to have one in order to participate in a group?
The Living Free Ministry defines a life-controlling problem “as anything that masters (or controls) a person’s life.” This definition can include persons coping with difficult relationships and those with behaviors, attitudes, or practices they would like to change.
Living Free groups are for EVERYONE – those desiring to grow through a challenge and others who want to learn more about life-controlling problems and how to help others overcome them. We believe that anyone can richly benefit from participating in any groups offered through the Living Free ministry.
What types of groups does the Living Free Ministry offer?
A variety of support and bible study groups make up the Living Free Ministry. Most new members to the ministry enter through an Insight Group. Insight groups serve as an opportunity for members to examine their own lives, and where they are in their Christian walk. Other groups offered by Living Free include: Insight; Anger Management; Free to Grow; Growing through Divorce; Overcoming Depression; Establishing Healthy Relationships; Christ-Centered Twelve-Step Recovery; Achieving Sexual Wholeness (Men); Abortion Recovery (Men and Women).
